Such a beautiful sunny, mild day. Perfect weather for paying our respects to the fallen.

I attended the Cenotaph at Penrhynside, and Chris and Cheryl attended the service in Colwyn Bay. Grateful thanks to Reverend Christine Owen and to Reverend Bob Griffiths for leading the services, and to all involved.

Excellent attendance at the Cenotaph this morning. Well done, and thank you to Revd Nigel Rogers, Adrian Hughes, and to the Mayor of Llandudno Cllr Carol Marrubi.

The Last Post and Reveille was one of the best I‘ve heard.

This year we have added a purple poppy to join the traditional red poppy, on our remembrance design, so that we not only remember all those who have lost their lives in and because of war, but also the huge amount of animals who perished too.

As we reach the end of October, we are reflecting on another busy and varied month at L-B&H.

October has been a mix of quiet family funerals and very public, incredibly well attended goodbyes. Three of our funerals were attended by over 300 mourners each and one well in excess of that number.

We have travelled to Chester, Mold, Wrexham and Uttoxeter to assist families. We reached 1000 followers on Facebook and we have a new permanent member of staff. We produced a memorial for the fallen of Penrhynside, Glanwydden and Llangwstenin. We raised over £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support and have just started or Poppy Appeal.

We have stood in beautiful autumn sunshine and listened to drummers and gongs. Heard incredible live music, and have tightly gripped umbrellas in the wind and rain.

Throughout, it has been a huge privilege to be asked to help.

Tomorrow marks the start of the National Poppy Appeal and Remembrance period, and once again we are proud to act as a collection point for donations.

Thank you, as always, to Adrian Hughes from the Royal British Legion, Llandudno Branch B. R. 2962 for kindly assisting us.
