Tomorrow marks the start of the National Poppy Appeal and Remembrance period, and once again we are proud to act as a collection point for donations.

Thank you, as always, to Adrian Hughes from the Royal British Legion, Llandudno Branch B. R. 2962 for kindly assisting us.

This afternoon we attended a very special service of remembrance at St. John’s Methodist Church, Llandudno. Organised by the National Association of Retired Police Officers and North Wales Police, we remembered those officers, retired and serving, lost during the pandemic.

The day also marked the last time in uniform, after thirty years of exemplary service, for one WPC 1370, aka our very own Cheryl Lord-Brown. A kind and thoughtful tribute was paid to her by retired Chief Superintendent Larry Davies.

We are immensely proud of Cheryl, and look forward to her joining us in a more permanent capacity in the very near future.

It was a privilege to attend the service and unveiling of a memorial plaque in memory of the fallen of Glanwydden, Bryn Pydew and Llangwstenin this evening. Proceedings were led by our friends Reverend Samuel Erlandson and Mr Adrian Hughes. With a beautiful solo rendition of Eli Jenkin’s Prayer sung by Mr Stan Roberts.

The plaque was unveiled by The Mayor of Llandudno, and the families of the fallen were invited to place flowers around the memorial.

It was lovely to be involved with the production of this memorial and to enjoy refreshments with the families and our community councillors, representatives of the Royal British Legion and local people.

Well done to Gini and the Glanwydden community for all they have done.

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.”

Jamie Oliver, our lovely therapy dog has decided it’s all because of him. We think he’s probably right.
